Anti Wrinkle Injection

WHAT ARE ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?

Anti-wrinkle injections are FDA cosmetic prescription. Suitable for both men and women aged 18 to 65. Anti-wrinkle injections are a medical treatment designed to treat certain muscular conditions. But it is also used cosmetically for removing wrinkles by temporarily paralysing muscles.

Anti-wrinkle injections should not be confused with dermal or injectable fillers which works in an entirely different manner. Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to block nerve impulses that cause muscles to contract and create frown lines, forehead wrinkles or crow’s feet lines. Anti-wrinkle injections will block the underlying nerve impulses which will result in less muscle contraction which causes wrinkles at that point. The injections for such procedures are not that deep.

ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS

Your anti-wrinkle injection treatment depends on a variety of elements such as your skin type, your age and the intensity of your wrinkles. In order to achieve the best outcome, anti-wrinkle injections must be applied in the right muscle, at the right depth and in the right quantity.

The results of anti-wrinkle injections are not visible immediately. It may take several days to a couple of weeks for the product to have the maximum impact on the muscles. The face will appear more relaxed and lines and wrinkles smoother. Results typically last between 4 and 6 months. The prolongation of the product varies from one individual to another and can only be determined once the treatment has been carried out for the first time.

HOW ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS WORK?

Fine lines are a natural effect of repeated facial expressions, sun exposure and a decrease of the skin’s elasticity. As you advance in age, these fine lines can turn into deep creases and wrinkles. A timely treatment for fine lines can reverse and postpone facial ageing for years to come.

The depletion of skin elasticity is one of the main characteristics of the ageing process. It leads to lack of firmness and the appearance of fine lines in the skin. Our broad range of skin tightening, repair and rejuvenation treatments can help you restore your skin’s strength while maintaining a youthful, natural look.

ADVANTAGES OF ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTION

Anti-wrinkle injections are non-invasive, non-surgical treatments, with no downtime. Anti-wrinkle injections can be used as for cosmetic purposes as well as treating certain medical conditions, with more and more therapeutic indications for anti-wrinkle injections being discovered. A very common therapeutic use is hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating. Tiny injections are placed under the armpits which reduce the amount of sweating.  If you have wrinkles, frown or smile line, and other signs of ageing, the muscle relaxants can help minimise or eliminate these problems. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be combined with dermal fillers to enhance facial features.

FAQ

IS ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENT SAFE?

This treatment is recognised as one of the safest cosmetic treatments. Side effects are rarely serious and always temporary, which is why it is now the most popular cosmetic treatment in the world.

Anti-wrinkle injections have been used safely and effectively for over 20 years to treat many eye and neurological conditions. These include spasticity and cerebral palsy in children and medical indications in very high dosages, all with no long-term side effects recorded. It is licensed in 13 countries for cosmetic use and has Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval, which is extremely difficult to achieve.

WHAT SIDE EFFECTS SHOULD I EXPECT FOLLOWING MY TREATMENT?

Immediately following a laser treatment, clients may experience redness, bumpiness and warmth on the skin (akin ? to the sensation of having a strong sunburn). This reaction is absolutely normal and is termed follicular oedema. This is the desired end-point of a laser hair removal session. This effect disappears in a few minutes to up to 6 or 7 hours, depending on the person. A few of clients with very sensitive skin may experience redness for up to 48 hours. However rare, there is a risk of burning and scarring. Temporary itching of the skin may occur. Temporary discoloration (hyper or hypo-pigmentation) may occur (this happens more often in clients of skin type V-VI, but can potentially happen with ALL clients). A very rare response is potential stimulation of new hair follicles.

WHO IS NOT CONSIDERED A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS TREATMENT?

Anti-wrinkle injections are extremely safe and most people will be able to have the treatment. Some of the most common reasons for not being suitable for the procedure are listed below but our experienced doctors always go through a full consultation explaining the treatment in detail and a medical consent form is completed prior to the procedure.

  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are currently trying for a baby, it would be wise to delay cosmetic treatments.
  • Diseases that affect muscle activity
  • Bleeding disorders or are taking drugs that affect bleeding time
  • Some allergies requiring medication

HOW LONG DOES THE RESULT OF ANTI-WRINKLE TREATMENTS LAST?

This may vary for each individual, but results normally last 4-6 months. With regular use over 2-3 years, results may last longer as the nerve-endings take longer to return to their normal state.

After 5 years of regular use, in areas where you previously created a lot of expression through involuntary use of facial muscles (such as forehead and frown lines), you may find that your muscle memory has reduced to a point where you no longer create those expressions and you no longer require injections. While this can happen with regular, long-term use, we cannot guarantee it as an outcome.

As your skin loses elasticity over the years, you may find that skin strengthening and tightening treatments are more important for maintenance.

HOW MUCH DOES THE TREATMENT COST?

Anti-wrinkle injection cost will vary depending on the amount of the product that is needed in your case. Some cases may only require a small volume of the product, others may require a much larger amount of the product due to the strength of the muscle and number of areas being treated. Anti-wrinkle injections are generally charged at a per unit cost.
